We are offering our latest reproduction of the Monastic Belt Buckle. This buckle is made in the traditional Mount Athos style, with the Great Schema inscribed on the face.
This belt buckle is only sold to monastics of the Little and Great Schema, because it is a unique feature of the monastic habit. Lay people do not wear monastic clothing, therefore this monastic buckle is only sold to monks and nuns of the Orthodox Church.
The Monastic Schema Buckle is die struck from solid yellow brass and hand polished to a brilliant luster, and the background is richly textured and antiqued by hand with dark patinas. Coined onto the backside of the buckle is the translation of the Great Schema monograms into English. It features an extra strong loop and tip backside for a long life and high durability. The buckle is specially treated with a durable hot lacquering process to protect the finish from tarnish and wear. Each buckle is then hand finished with the greatest of care and attention to detail.
